Module 1 My First Day at Senior High

ANNE’S BEST FRIEND
Do you want a friend whom you could tell everything to, like your deepest feelings and thoughts? Or are you afraid that your friend would laugh at you, or just can’t understand what you are going through? Anne Frank wanted the first kind, so she made her diary her best friend.
Anne lived in Amsterdam in the Netherlands during World War II. Her family was Jewish so they had to hide or
they would be caught by the German Nazis. She and her family hid away for nearly twenty- five months before they
were discovered. During that time the only true friend was her diary. She said, “ I don’t want to set down a series of
facts in a diary as most people do, but I want this diary itself to be my friend, and I shall call my friend Kitty.” Now
read how she felt after being in the hiding place for over a year.

Dear Kitty,
I wonder if it’s because I haven’t been able to be outdoors for so long that I’ve grown so crazy about everything to do with nature. I can well remember that there was a time when a deep blue sky, the song of the birds, moonlight and flowers could never have kept me spellbound. That’s changed since I was here.
… For example, when it was so warm, I stayed awake on purpose until half past eleven one evening in order to have a good look at the moon for once by myself. But as the moon gave far too much light, I didn’t dare open a window. Another time five months ago, I happened to be upstairs one evening when the window was open. I didn’t go downstairs until the window had to be shut. The dark, rainy evening, the wind, the thundering clouds held me entirely in their power; it was the first time in a year and a half that I’d seen the night face to face…

1.Notes:
The story took place in Amsterdam, Holland in the early 1940s after the German Nazis had occupied most of Europe. The Nazi Party ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945. One of their key policies was to kill all the Jews in Europe. If any persons known to be Jews were found, they would be sent to concentration camps farther east, mostly in Poland. Families were separated and transported in trains. For many days, they went without food, water, sanitation or fresh air. To avoid this terrible fate, some Jewish families went into hiding, often with the help of non-Jewish friends. This is what Anne’s family did when Margot was told she must go to the railway station to be taken to a camp. Another Jewish family joined them in their hiding place in the attic of a house .It was very crowded there; Margot, Peter and, of course, Anne. Her diary shows that Anne felt she was the naughty one of the group since she was always being scolded. She felt she could not confide in Margot because her sister was always good. And she felt she could not confide in Peter because he was a boy. So she made a friend of he diary. Later, however, she did become closer to Peter and they took a liking to one another. Anne talks about their growing friendship in her diary.

基于课程改革的理念及“第二语言习得论”和“整体语言教学”理论,运用任务型教学途径,围绕核心任务,设定小任务,开展促进自主性学习的课堂活动,强调合作探究与独立思考相结合,初步设计“P—T—P”自主学习立体模式:(Pre-task----Task-cycle----Post-task)。
五、 教材处理
核心任务:学生能利用照片、明信片、纪念品等向同伴介绍旅游情况。三个环节如下:
Pre-task: 学生回忆往事,激活背景知识,重温情感体验
Task-cycle: 通过整个模块听说读写的训练,强化“描述风光或一件难忘的事”的表达及语篇能力,为完成任务做好铺垫
Post-task: 达成任务,展示成果,反馈学习情况。

根据学生学习英语的特点和规律,我们把本模块划分为6课时:

Not long ago, I had a wonderful trip to Hainan. It’s not an area of dry land, because it’s surrounded by sea. There you can always enjoy the beautiful sunshine, green trees and blue water. On the beaches, you can’t find any valuable stones, but you can always touch the soft sand instead. On my way back, I made friends with some of the people traveling on the train.

《不自由,毋宁死》是美国独立战争时期政治家帕特里克.亨利(Patrick Henry, 1736-1799)在弗吉尼亚议会上的即兴演讲,被公认为世界上最经典的演讲之一。
Give Me
They tell us, sir, that we are weak, unable to deal with so powerful enemy. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be in every house? Shall we gather strength by hesitating and doing nothing?
Sir, we are not weak, if we make a proper se of means which the God of nature has placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are not beaten by any force which our enemy can send against us.
Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who will call on friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no choice. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat, but giving in and slavery! Our chains are made! The war is inescapable and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come!
It is useless, sir, to think poorly of the matter. Gentlemen may cry peace, peace, but there is no peace. The war has actually begun! Our fellowmen are in the field! Why do we stand here freely? 单选试题分析比较
一年一度的内江“二模”和成都“二诊”也尘埃落定,对于高考前最重要的两次考试,学生非常关注,都想通过这种大型的考试来检验自己。老师也想进一步检验自己的复习效果。我通过简单的分析比较,发现有些方向性的东西,很有价值。迫不及待的整理出来,以期对自己的后期教学有一定的指导作用。让自己的教学更有针对性、更有效果,更希望我的学生能够通过今年的高考,实现自己的多年的梦想。

纵观内江的考题,连词考察了5道题,分别考察了:名词性从句;原因状语从句;非限制性定语从句;强调句型和让步状语从句。考察的形式中规中矩,难度都不大。其中,强调句式的考察和“一模”相比,难度下降了很多。只要我们平时的学习注意了基础语法,过关应该没有问题,从学生的反馈来看,这几道题没给他们造成多大的障碍。

【成都二诊】的这几道关于连词的题,分别考察了名词性从句;特殊疑问句的特殊疑问词的选择;让步状语从句;定语从句。从学生反馈情况来看,11题的错误率反而比较多。注意是平时的教学中我们有所忽视;特别是对how long和how soon 学生理解的不够,而对将来时态中的in weeks 的理解也不到位。While 的用法在一诊中也有体现,这次的考查和二模如同一辙。总的来说,考查的还是比较基础。没有特别绕弯。

【注】这两题我认为不错,能够充分考查出学生对非谓语动词的理解掌握程度。6题考查的非常好,也和我们的教材紧密结合。特别是第二空,很多学生纷纷掉入出题者的陷阱,spend some time in doing sth,所以想都不想就认为是省了in 的doing 形式。其实仔细分析题,此题妙就妙在出题者省略了in doing sth.而直接在其后跟了一个过去分词作状语。Locked in the study(书房)。在我们教材福尔摩斯一课中也有相同一句。We will have to spend the night locked in the room. 16题考查了there be 句型的非谓化。我们知道, there be表示“存在,有”的含义。它有多种语法形式,如:不定式,动名词、现在分词等,选用哪种形式,还要看它在居中的作用而定。

于丹走进重庆巴蜀中学讲“感悟中国智慧”,在演讲中不时地批判现在的教育体制培养出来的中学生“有知识没文化”,高分低能现象严重。她说,许多学生考上北京的名牌大学,仍然不懂得与人相处,跟父母亲人关系僵化,在学校里因为生活琐事与同学大打出手。有的人则直接学成了书呆子。
“中学教师不是只教给学生知识和结论,更重要的是教给他们思维的起点。”于丹说,“要说知识,现在的电脑什么知识装不下?互联网这么发达,用搜索引擎什么都可以找到,但是世上却永远没有心灵搜索引擎。”

闲话碎语
今天星期一,又一个工作周开始了,照例的升旗仪式。中午回家,老婆告诉我她通知了家政服务今天来给我家打扫卫生。还正在说着,就来了。和她们闲聊了几句,得知她们来自农村,在威钢租了房子,一年下来,生意还很不错。有包月的,还有就像我们临时叫的。但临时的价格要高些。她们都很朴实,谈话间对自己的生活还是相当满足。这让我想到,在当今很多大学生毕业以后到处找不到工作,其实不是说没有工作,而是一种高不成低不就。大学又没有认真学习专业知识,出来又眼高手低。又不积极去适应社会,那当然不好找工作了。我看她们也没有经过什么专业训练,但很认真,细致。所以生意好。其实在这个社会上,只要你努力,认真,还是能够找到自己的位置的。关键是心态要摆正。
由于她们在打扫卫生,我不好呆在家里。想了想,便来到学校学生寝室,跟同学们一起。睡在学生寝室,这让我想起了我的集体生活,想起我大学的兄弟,情同手足的兄弟,现在大家在不同的工作岗位,虽然时时想起,但真正不好相聚,大家都很忙。突然拿出手机,翻到大学班长曾万全去年8月22日发我的短信:“各位同学:原计划在暑假聚聚,由于部分同学已经上班,且有的同学无法联系上,因此只有期待明年相识二十周年再聚了。”10月3日发来:“多年后石头还是石头,而石头上承诺的感情却像秋天的叶子,在风中枯萎、飘零。渐渐化为尘土,这才知道世上最不可挽回的不是爱恨情仇,而是不知不觉的疏远,疏远是无终而疾的消逝,我们因缘集会,因成长而飘向不同的地方。敬以此献给我未曾疏远并依旧珍惜的朋友!”……
